All too often in these times, writing any kind of a critique that does not pass muster with a famous or semi famous individual or their public relations team, can create discomfort, if not closed doors for a writer, especially one who documents Society in New York City. I am always amazed that anyone finds this blog or that they take the time to dissect what I write. Hence the reason why in most cases I leave your opinions up, especially if they are pointed critiques at me, my loyalties or call into question whether I am being paid off to write puff pieces. Frankly, I am not. Far too often my unwillingness to publish press releases from reality entertainers makes me less popular than bloggers who promise to kiss ass in exchange for access to someone and I have written blogs about those that have and continue to do this. I cannot simply publish press releases for any of these folks. While some of them may engage in constructive behavior from time to time, that they have become so prominent in our culture for literally nothing says alot about the state of our culture--unfortunately. The last thing I would do is take money from any of them.

Oy vey, to be candid, I am fortunate enough not to have to wake up next to any of the so called Real Housewives of New York City. Many of you make interesting comments. If you ask me my opinion one week to the next, it might vary. The comment that Bethenny Frankel has the most raw talent is accurate in that I think she has a sharp wit, is funny and would probably be an interesting TV persona outside this genre of drek that the American public has become so consumed with.

I love all things "RHNY", the dishier the better. This reads like you are a friend of Jills though. She must have fallen out with the Countess. How does she keep track of her friends she's constantly discarding. Where is her gay husband Brad? Bethenny made a joke last season that if she was still single at 40 she was marrying this gorgeous hair dresser. He would give her a baby and then he could do what he wanted. That's not what happened here obviously. Jason seems to love Bethenny. I don't get a gay vibe from him at all. Richard Simmons little brother? As the Countess would say "My dear, you are reaching". Jason worked on Wall Street and has his own wealth. Jill had a first husband who obviously didn't "adore her". Bawby is led around by the nose by Jill. She is such a wannabe socialite. I never met anyone with real money who constantly told you they had it or spoke SO LOUDLY. When she crashed Ramona's party on St. John after accepting, then denying the invitation before finally showing up the last day SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF HER LUNGS, 'RAMONA, RAMONA, HI, HI". She was feuding with Alex, Bethenny, and Ramona at the time and had said nasty things behind Sonya's back. She knew her friend had blown a gasket down there after Jill's feeding a sick mind misinformation yet still left sick friend at the airport alone. You must be lobbying to be her new "gay husband" to fill in for Brad.

Well, you can see Jill Zarin's grubby little fingerprints all over his article. There is nothing genuine about that woman. She loves her husband's money and gladly lets the world know that she's happy to trade blow jobs for diamonds. If you're going to put LuAnn down for marrying for position and money, you need to put Jill in the same category, as well as Kelly Bensimon.

Bethenny Frankel is the break out star of the series. She's young, hip and she has worked for everything she's got, unlike most of the cast, who married for money. She found herself a great guy and has a lovely baby, and there's a big audience waiting out here to enjoy seeing their development without having to listen to the nasal, self-absorbed whining of Jill Zarin. Anyone who would say such nasty things about a smart, successful young woman who is building a great life for herself has no soul.

I hope Jill will sell your soul back to you at a reasonable profit, but I doubt it. She's never been reasonable about anything else.

[...] ‘High Society’ on the CW starring socialite Tinsley Mortimer and an ensemble cast of urban trust fundafarian’s, fauxsocialite’s, criminals, tranny’s and frauds has been one of the most over hyped reality shows. This platform, vehicle or launching pad for New York Socialite Tinsley Mortimer received incessant media attention for months preceding its airing this week. As anyone who lives in New York City who attends a few social events will attest to, her cast mates are those who have been positioning themselves for reality fame virtually since birth. At this stage of the reality cycle, one cannot be sure that the quest for fame is not an Andy Warhol gene passed down into the offspring of today’s social creatures. The reviews are now in. High Society should, however, be more appropriately named High Times, as you would have to do many a bong hit to believe that this is what is representative of ‘High Society’ in New York City. Whereas High Society has generally been defined as the ‘fashionable elite‘, the phrase has even been used as a brand of a porno magazine but never before for fame seeking douchebags who hustle designers for free clothes to wear on T.V. so they look fashionable during their dance with fame.
Hi Chris,

It was good meeting you last night at the Young Collector's party at the armory. Man, did you ever hit the nail on the head with this post. Particularly with your assessment of the Countless (love that word) having the insane audacity to think that she is in any way qualified to dish out advice on manners. C'mon! My mother, indeed ALL our mothers, are more qualified to write an etiquette book than this chick. Thanks for keeping it real.
